The USRFD responded to three calls for service this evening. The first came in at 6:46 pm for a reported power line down on Lake Street at the horseshoe bend. Chief Vierheilig arrived on scene to find a power line arcing on ground and a tree into the remaining power lines on fire as well. Asst Chief Rauch, Engine 1232, Engine 1231, and Rescue 1242 assisted USRPD to close down the roadway and await O and R arrival.
At 6:50pm, a CO alarm activation came in at a home on Stoneledge Road. Engine 1232 was redirected to take in the call. The crew checked the home with the meter which resulted in zero readings.
As units were assisting USR DPW setting up barricades on Lake Street, a fire alarm activation came in at 1 Lake Street. Engine 1232, Tanker 1233, and Chief responded. The building was checked and no problem found. All units were clear from their respective calls at 8:10pm.
A great job by the volunteers as it was a busy two days.
